In the meantime, mobilcom operated under the name mobilcom-debitel GmbH and is now Freenet DLS GmbH. mobilcom focussed on the marketing of wireless services contracts for the network operators T-Mobile, Vodafone, E-Plus and O2. mobilcom offered products and services via its franchise shop chain and sales partnerships with qualified specialist dealers. The subsidiary freenet.de AG was active in the landline/Internet business. The reason for Hannover Finanz’s investment was to prepare mobilcom for its IPO and to provide growth financing.
